Well, it looks like I may be heading from DC to the Greensboro, NC area for a few days sometime this weekend. Other than the Woodcraft in Greensboro does anyone know of any woodworking supply places around the southern VA or NC area that would be worth an extra side trip while I'm down there?

Thanks

Hey Rob. I am in Greensboro. The Rockler closed a year ago leaving only Woodcraft. If you travel North on Interstate 40 about 20 minutes or so there is the Wood Workers Supply (big store). It might be worth a trip. There are several good wood sources around (individual millers) that might be worth looking up if you need some lumber.

I second the vote for Steve Wall lumber.

Their $5 bin, if they still have it, was always worthwhile.

Wall Lumber!!!

Also, if you're coming down through Raleigh, not too far out of the way off I-40 is East Wake Hardwoods. I see now they are going out of business -- even if they weren't, they always had exceptional wood available, and cheaper if you bought it in lumber form rather than "turning" stock. The "going out of business" sale should make the out of the way trip even more worthwhile. Might be worth a phone call though, to see if they're still open, and if he has anything left.
