Got back on the lathe today. Grabbed a piece of Spalted Elm branch that I stabilized, and gave it a spin or two.
I mounted the whole round of the branch. A rather odd shape.

Dimensions: 5 1/2" long x 3" wide and 3" tall
Finished with 3 coats Shellac

Very nice piece. Has a wonderful rustic look. I don't know that I've ever seen spalted elm before. I have plenty of elm, from my own tree that died, but none of it is this nice.
