I am trying to come up with names for 3 levels of pens I offer. I have a lower end, a mid-range and an upper end of offerings. My need is to come up with a decent name for the lower end and the mid-range offerings.

I don't like the phrases Basic Pens, Entry-Level Pens, etc.

Anyone have suggestions on what to call these groups?

Thanks

I have only two categories.

"Named Pens" are limited in number and usually have a theme.

"Custom Pens" are the pens I make.

I try to use only higher end quality kits and blanks. I still make slimlines or custom slim lines occasionally if asked, but my normal lowest end pen is the Baron.

I dont name groups, but name the pen types individually. Sierra=Catalina, Jr. Gent=Counselor, Imperial=Shanghai, etc. Why would you want to tell a customer he was getting an "entry level pen". Treat 'em all as high end!

Tom
PS that's a "Golden Desert Ironwood Rescuedwood Counselor" in my sig line.

That's a good point.

I like the a different name. ie Slimline = Marathon

Most items are bought on perceived value.

Rick, I name all my pens by series, ie: the Jr. Gent is one (Naples), the Jr. Statesman is another(Palermo) etc. for a couple of reasons. I also could have any of them as a Limited Edition like my scrimshaw series of American Indian themed pens, where I limited each pen to just 3 pens in a series, or my Special Edition pens that I might make 10-15 of a series.
