My wife is leaving me tomorrow - and it's all because of my pen turning

It's true. She is taking the kids and heading to her mom's house...with a fairly sizable wad of my cash.

Actually, I decided to send her on a shopping spree with some of the funds I have raised in teaching classes and selling pens. Just a little way of saying thanks for putting up with me and my latest obsession of pen turning.

I post this not to brag about how wonderful a husband I am, but as a reminder to take a moment and appreciate your own LOML or whomever else puts up with and/or supports you. She has made me a better craftsman and is the inspiration for several of my projects - not to mention my color coordinator.

As an added bonus, I get to have a bunch of my buddies over for the weekend to goof off and watch the Red Wings secure the Stanley Cup tomorrow night!

My wife feels appreciated everytime she buys a new Dooney and Bourke purse or some other high dollar woman stuff, but she is still pretty good so I don't mind.

On another note it's amazing I can buy a cheap Wal-Mart wallet and carry it for years, but she goes through purses like there is no tomorrow.

It's very interesting for sure! I have a sense of pride in having a wallet for many years showing wear. Maybe I'm just wierd? :confused:

Your generousity has touched me so muxh that I just sent my wife out with my hard earned cash, I even let her take my car, all she has to do is take it to the car wash and give them my cash and we are all happy. Hopefully she will pickup some dinner on the way home.:biggrin:

Some how I feel sorry for you, I had a similar situation in 1972.
 
Say, I have a message. After reading these, Mary and I had a great chuckle. But here is the message: IF YOU FEEL AS THOUGH SOMEONE PUNCHED YOU IN THE CHEST AND HAVE TROUBLE BREATHING, it is time to get to the HOSPITAL.
That happened to me. I did not realize it was a heart attack. I thought it was muscle soreness after doing some heavy lefting the day before.
There reason for the heart attack were, #1 I stopped taking my Coumadin because the prescription ran out and the pharmacy screwed up, #2 I got dehydrated by working and sweating the day before.
So be careful guys and gals.
 
You guys are terrible. You should do like I did. Teach your wife to turn pens. She actually does a better job then me but I can't get her away from her computer long enough to turn a pen.

I can solve this. Just ignore her for a few days and she will come find you even if it is just to nag.....oh wait that's at my house.
 
Glad the shopping trip worked out. I did a similar thing a few years ago with my R/C hobby. I would buy estate lots and break them up. I was able to fund a family vacation that way complete with hotel, and spending money. Since then the wife has not bothered me when I spend money on my hobbies. She knows I will at least make them break even.
