Back in February I moved into a new home. One of the main criteria in looking for a house was that it had to have a three car garage so that I could have a shop set up the way I wanted it to be. That made it kinda hard to find a house, because being only one person, I didn't need a really large house, but most of the houses I looked at that had the 3 car garage were well over 2000 square feet. But finally I found one that suited me well and so here's my new shop. Originally my intention was to park the car in the one car side and have the shop in the two car side, but I have to confess, I couldn't make the turn to pull the car into the one car side, so I had to revamp my plans... (No comments about women drivers please!). but it all worked out fine in the end anyway, there was still plenty of room for everything on the one car side, it just meant that some of the storage and supplies had to go into the two car side. I hired an electrician to come and he added in more plugs than I could ever use, but it's great to have individual plugs for each piece of equipment! I haven't been able to spend much time in the shop yet, due to surgery, but I wanted to share pix with my IAP friends. And yes, Billy, even though you don't see any shavings or sawdust, it has actually been used a little bit, I have done some turning since setting it up, just not too much!

Hey Angela!!!

Great to see you return.

Rumor has it you had an elbow problem, so you were unable to make sharp turns with your vehicle ----- Yeah, that's it, ELBOW problem!!!!

Hope your healing continues!!

Angela,
It's good to see you around again. I suppose you are on the mend and doing fine after the surgery.

Congrats on the new home and shop. It's great to have dedicated shop space. Now, let's see some pens.
Do a good turn daily!
Don

Welcome back Angela, Nice shop as well. What is that big black thing in the middle of the room? Don't know that I have ever seen one of those before.
Now get all caught up, healed up and whatever and go make it look like a respectable shop.

I'm really glad to see you back Angela. Your shop looks awesome and I'm very envious of not having to move everything around to get any work done.

I hope your arm heals well and you get to start having fun again soon.

You shop is nice, but where's all the sawdust?! And don't worry....you're not the only one who buys a house for the garage.....my wife was a little frustrated when we were house hunting b/c a lot of things she liked had no garage at all...and that just wouldn't cut it! We did find a nice one though, but my shop is not as big as yours! Congrats.

We have not met but welcome back. Great shop. The black thing is simular to the big bronze thing I hunt pen blanks from.
Mark

Thanks everybody! Yep, the black thing is known as a car, in olden days, legend has it that that's what garages were built for! Many women still believe in that theory, and thus fights ensue when a man tries to use the garage for a shop and storage!

Just to prove that my shop has some use, I'm attaching pix of the last two pens I literally finished up a day or two before surgery. Even though my elbow was hurting then, I knew I wouldn't be able to do them after surgery and they were a gift for a friend. So I endured some pain to get them finished...

Hey, Ang, you been playin' hookie too?

The new setup looks a bit girlie, but nice. And I think you set the shop up on the wrong side of the garage. You have room in the single for the car!
