Today was the first day of my new job and I just thought I would show you all a link to the NASA Plumbrook Spacecraft Propulsion Testing Facility in Sandusky, Ohio. This facility is used for testing rocket engines in our atmosphere as well as the simulated atmosphere of outer space. The new company that I work for is Eden Cryogenics here in the Columbus, Ohio area and they manufactured all of the stainless steel piping and valve systems for this facility.

The current project I will be over seeing is going to Cape Canaveral.

Check out this link. The pictures are good but the video linked to the top picture is great.

Now that's the size pressure/vacuume chamber we need for our casting, do you suppose they will let us in?

I don't know if they will let us in that particular one or not but I would say over time if I can collect some scrap stainless steel, I might just have to make me a nice pressure pot.

Haven't thought about Plumbrook in years. My mother use to work there during WWll making TNT and my father was an armed guard there during the winter months back in the 50's. I remember going there when I was a kid.

Oh Curtis, I do believe that Grant has access to something you need to "play" with.

Dang, a vacuum chamber 38'x60' .... hummmmm, that would have room for every blank ever cast to date and then several more loads. Now just where is my calculator when I need it?

Do they make that much PR and such?

Congratulations on a sweet job. Hope you enjoy the adventures you are about to undertake and be a part of!
