We adopted "Rosie" from the local pound. She is our 3rd basset hound. Best dogs in the world.

2 downers with that breed. Slobber and turds the size of a car. Everything else is positive. Good hunters. Able to be heard in another state when barking. And best of all very friendly.

Congrads!

More pictures.. think this dog has found a home... lol.... what do you think?

Congratulations on the new basset. LOML and I have been adopted by two Basset Hound puppies. We got them when they were 6 weeks old, they are now 17 weeks old and weigh 33 and 31 pounds, named Harley and Hondo respectively. They are littermates and a real handful at times, but wouldn't part with them for anything.
They are just finding their deep howl, but have the loud bark down pat.

Will share pictures later.

Rob,
You will find that they are very loving. I have an 11 year old (Brita) that is just lazy. Another pound puppy. She is my girl. Number 2 (Lucy) is full blooded. Paid almost $400 for her. Dumbest dog alive but fun and loving. Got her 5 year ago. Rosie's tail never stops. She fit in with the other two the first day. I'm so amazed how good she is and was a stray. Someone lost a good dog. Only problem with Basset's is that they like to follow their noses and wonder... than can't remember where they are... (nose down)....

Well, congrats on your pound puppy! What a little love!
My aunt raised Bassets. Great dog. And she does look quite at home, doesn't she. I really like her freckles.
