My First Feather Casting

Used Ring-Neck Pheasant feathers. First layer of "Hearts" and second layer of "Church Windows".

Still working on refining my technique of applying the feathers to keep them attached to the tube as well as keeping the top layer from floating in the Polyester resin.

So far so good!

You showed the photos looks pretty good.

Now tell us a little about your technique. That is what this forum is for. Did you glue your feathers if with what and how. Or did you tie them on with a clear monofilment.

I got about 5 lbs. of different kind of feathers I am going to play with one of these days.

That is a blank most of us are envious of for sure! Well done Les. I gave up trying to glue the feathers long ago.

I glue the feathers to the tube and feathers to each other and this way there is no need to tie the feathers onto the tube.

Once I have my technique perfected the I will post a tutorial.
