My first cast

Here is my first attempt at casting. I used a Pink and Purple pigment, while mixing; the silver appeared (not too crazy about that). Turned round sanded with 600, coat of polish. I just want to know, if I'm on the right track. Sorry about the picture only had time for a cell phone pic.
