My craigslist gloat

I am always watching craigslist for good deals.. I ran acros this one. I saw the chuck sitting in the back ground.. The guy wanted $200.00 for everything.. I figured I could use the lathe for my buffer. I got there and it is a NOVA Precision Midi Chuck. And a lot of tools.. I talked the guy down to $150.00. My lucky day.. When I turned on the lathe I noticed it was really fast. I checked on the speed.. This thing turns at 4750 rpms.It is a grizzly vs. My Jet VS only turns at 3700 rpms and mt delta midi is 3900 rpms.. This lathe might work out better for acrylics. I already made a little bowl with the chuck.. I really like it's setup.. Just had to share... Thanks Dan

I have the same lathe and rebuilt it (new bearings and pulleys) about a year or so ago. I put a slightly larger pulley on it, and now I can only turn the VS about 3/4 the way or it smokes the bearings.

Great lathe, just watch the MT on the headstock, if you spin a loose tapper it gets burrs really easy.
