Found an apartment where I am moving to and posted my house for sale on Craigslist http://sanantonio.craigslist.org/rfs/370975125.html . Sold it technically in less than an hour to (get this) another IAP member. [:0] Had about 40 interested parties and some still coming in via email today.

We didn't talk about it prior and I find it so amazing that he would find my post at Craigslist and be the first to contact me to reserve the property.

Billy (alamocdc), better get your brother in law ready to haul some free wood, this week if possible ;)

This is the reason why I am not as active posting wise these past weeks.
Congrats on selling the house Dario! It looks and sounds like an awesome deal. Billy is getting one heck of a nice home.

Billy is NOT the home buyer...he will just get some wood I can't take with me [:D]

That's hysterical Dario! Congrats on the sale! I'm sure another IAP member wouldn't mind you leaving some of the wood there! :)
congrats dario! but where will you set up in the apartment? is there a "shop room"?? [:D]

First consideration in choosing the apartment was a 2 car garage [}:)] and I got it.

It is still much smaller and we have to down size (tremendously) but I will have both my lathes (and shop) with me.

I can only bring 1/4 or so of my wood though...and it is tearing me apart [V][B)]

It is amazing how much "junk" one can accumulate when you have room for it...and when you have a sickness/addiction like I do. [8)] Maybe moving to an apartment will be good for me.

Gary,

If I have time, I would cut, pack and mail out a lot of these "junk" to you guys...but I have just a few days to pack clean up and move! [B)] If it is just mailing I can do that, but cutting and handling big/heavy chunks of wood takes a lot from me.

I have to work this week too before my resignation fully take effect so that only leaves me evenings. [:(]

Don't sweat it; I'm teasin'. I realize how busy you have to be moving.
LOML & I actually spent the better part of a couple of days last week `pruning' a top layer of possessions. We've given away or tossed a lot of stuff we've been saving over the years. It is truly amazing how much `stuff' we've amassed.

I need to continue that process in my own shop -- including thinning down the wood.
Yet here I was looking for some of yours 'cause it's stuff I don't have yet.
It's a sickness I tell ya: Needle, vein, run, run, run, .... [:D][:D][:D]

You know what I really hope -- I hope that your new opportunity provides those things that'll continue bringing comfort, peace, closeness, and joy to you and your family! [8D]
And, that you have time and space to continue turning out the lovely work you've displayed here. [;)]

Gary

dario, if you don't mind my asking, are you going to be turning full time or are you just inbetween houses, new job or what?

Andrew,

Our relocation is basically influenced by need to be closer to family on a different city. New job/opportunity there clinched it. [:)]

Congrats, Dario! That was FAST! Did the buyer hope to find your secret wood stash (with the chestnut blanks)? Will he be digging holes in the yard and tapping on the walls seeking the pen-making mother lode?

Good luck in your new enterprise, and your move.

Chris
