These two bowls are from the same blank, Australian Walnut, but not sure which variety or species.
The smaller (daughter) is 7in x 1.5in and my first attempt at texturing. The top surface is painted black.
Mother is 9in x 2.5in.
Both pieces are finished with Shellawax Glow.

C&C welcome as usual. Thanks for looking.

G'day Bob,

Mother and daughter did come out pretty damn good, particularly seen that nice woods such as my local Walnut (sorry but, I have no idea of its scientific name, and the Walnut farm it came from is now something else and own by different people so, asking there would be a waste of time...!) were utilised in full but getting a second bowl from the original blank, great savings...!

Anyway, shapes and finish are pleasant to the eye, the texturing is quite deep but of interesting pattern, the black does accentuate its texture very well so, congrats...!

Cheers
George
