Bill that looks great(as usual)!! I love the color combination...some day I will turn a bowl...it is on my list of things to do.. It would be nice to see a pic of the glue up before it was turned too..

.

Never thought of taken the camera to the shop for that one. There are a lot of steps involved but comes together rather quickly when planning ahead like cutting some segments while other glued up ones are drying. . About an hour of curing is enough to go on to the next step with most segments and rings but I always let the whole thing cure overnight before turning the inside and outside.

I got the yellowheart showing at the ends of the oval as well this time.

Those ovals are so very easy to do if just using two woods for the feature ring showing one color of oval on a contrasting background. . It is when using the extra ring around the the main outside color of the oval where the problem comes in .

Getting the right balance is not as easy as it looks. . But then it is all just in fun and I sell my stuff real cheap anyway and point out my errors to any purchasers so my low price is justified. I have to sell and give away a LOT of stuff or else there would not be enough room in my house to move around all the stuff I make.
