Some of you may already have heard this but I had it on good authority that Mont Blanc have pulled out of the pen market. If this is true then their pens are set to become collector pieces.
Their biggest outlet in the south of England gave me the info that it will be a world wide pull out.

I have an older Mont Blanc Miesterstruck (or what ever it is) roller ball that i received as a gift. I actually carry it with my pens and let folks compare it to some of the higher end pens I make. I do a lot of black and white segmenting and inlays and mostly use the Jr. Gent and the americana bullet pen (i think that is what it is). I let folks know than can get the mont blancs for $250 or more if they want them. They can get mine for a good bit less and have a pen that no one else will have. Sometimes that makes the sale, sometimes not.

A correction about Mont Blanc pens. I now have it from the horses mouth that they have withdrawn sales from specialist pen shops and selling only through jewellers. Our local pen shop was advised this change in policy a year ago and it has now happened.
Seems a detrimental step to me but I'm not the boss of the company.

Sounds like they are aiming at a specific demographic.

Lots of companies do that. It only makes sense to go where the money is...

IMHO.
