Has anyone tried the mold release from Michaels (ETI) with Silmac 41?

I wonder if mold releases are interchangeable from epoxy to epoxy?

PVA (polyvinylacetate) is commonly sold as "release agent", but the fiberglass professionals I know use carnuba wax. Burnish it into the mold and polyester resin (and vinylester resin, and epoxies) will drop out clean.

Thanks Eric, that's good to know. I wonder if plain old Johnson paste wax would work?

What kind of mold are you using , silmar 41 shrinks as it cures and needs no release agent in most types of molds . Paste wax is mainly Carnuba was so it will work .

Thanks, saved me some money. On our trial run my friend used an air brush and sprayed a release agent on the mold. It's something he uses for his poly tech molds when he molds stuff for his taxidermy work.

I'll be using Silmar 41 and paste wax just in case.
