Not sure if anyone has tried this before and/or posted it on here, but here it goes.

I had a DVD that was shot because my kids left it on the carpet and did an Irish jig on it - full of scratches. So, the DVD sat on a shelf for a couple of months. Finally, the light bulb went off in my head about what might work - MM. I remember reading the MM was originally developed to polish aircraft windows and was used on medical equipment. Why wouldn't it work on a DVD?

So, I proceeded to soak all of my MM from 2400 to 12000. Starting with 2400, I began in a circular pattern (realizing that they say to go from the center out - but oh well, the thing was shot anyways) all the way around the DVD and repeated all the way to 12000. I did this a couple of times and left the surface as smooth as silk.

DVD works better than new!

DISCLAIMER: Only used on one DVD so far and didn't work anyways so I had nothing to lose. I suggest you do the same.
