Will powder Mica from Coastal Scents work ok with Alumilite? Also, How critical is the measurements? I have a 16 ounce batch (8 of each) but my mold only makes 3- two ounce blanks. Would it be better to just find something that will hold a 16 ounce batch and pour once?

How succesfull (or not) would i be if i just eyeballed half?

thanks for the help!

The mica pigments work great with alumilite . The mix for alumilite is by weight so get yourself a cheap scale and use it . I bought a postal scale from HF , it cost $10 on sale .

The only problem I have had so far from Coastal Scents mica with Alumilite is when using red powders, and that problem is not unique to Coastal Scents. I have tried numerous red options, and the only thing that has ever cured for me is the Alumilite red liquid tint.

I have not had problems with any other color so far.

yeah, that's my problem. I dont have a scale accurate enough to split up the 8 ounce bottles. I just have 16 ounces of it. I dont even know yet if i am going to switch or stay with Silmar so it is hard to spend the money on a scale just for one pour. I guess i will just do a single color pour. Thanks for all the help!

*Already turned off. I don't need any new tools to pour PR...*

The mica's work great for me. I prefer them when I am trying to make my colors denser and less transparent.

As for red I have a lot of luck with pearlx Red Russet
