Hi Herb. Definitely get yourself 1oz of white and black. I find the paradise micas to be a bit dark toned. Nothing wrong with that but it may not be what you want. The metallic colors are very nice. The cellini red is not red but more pink. Id go for individual colors but that's just me. Illl upload a pic of my color table in a bit

Well, for myself, I didn't find many of the colors in this package very appealing for the colors I wants to work with. I wanted more bold colors, for example an ocean blue mixed with bronze I thought was awesome when I saw it on another pen on IAP. so I ordered individual Micas, but do what feels right and it will be a good decision.

I started off by ordering the 99 color trial package. This was great as I could try many colors and keep track of those I wanted to order in the future. Now I have a dozen or so that I generally stick with.

Here's a pic of some of my pigments, most are from coastal scents. I just got a resupply of about 14 more 1oz jars as well as 8oz of both black and white (which aren't shown in this pic), and that's just the 1oz powders. The sample baggies and most of the dyes are in the cabinet below. I really like the new cerulean blue they have.

Hello Herb!
You might also check with joann fabrics. They have 3 different series of the pearl micas. They often run these series on sale and it's a very good deal when they do.Each series has some really nice colors.

I have only been able to find Series 1 and 2 around here in the Pearl Ex brand by Jacquard. Really want to get my hands on Series 3 sometime. Checked both Michaels and Joanns.

Jonathon, What color is the top can in the forth column from the left. I have been trying to find a good bright yellow. Presently use the yellow cast in craft liquid, but would like to find an alternative in the coastal scent brand pigments. I appoligize, not trying to hijack thread.
Love the cerulean blue!!

Love the cerulean blue!!

If you want a bright yellow you might look at ArtStuf's Cadmium Lemon Yellow or any of their other bright yellows.

Here's a sample from the color library
