Last night went to our monthly Scrollers meeting. Alaska Creative Woodworkers Association (ACWA). ACWA has Scrollers, Carvers and general Woodworkers. We had a presentation from The DeWalt, Porter Cable and Delta Guy. One big Delta Family... Harry Brennan is out of Towson, Maryland. He is the Channel Manager for the Woodworking group. He was in Anchorage giving classes to the folks at Alaska Industrial Hardware (AIH). So, we were able to give input on likes and dislikes and features we'd like to see on all thier equipment. He took notes and was serious about making positive changes. Of course he demoed the new fully featured unisaw. All American made! Castings in Wisconsin, Marathon motor, one piece trunnion instead of the old-style three piece! I'm still drolling! $3000.00 means only drool for me...Then there was their new mini, 12 1/2" X 16 1/2" and a Huge belt and plenty of room to change belt on either, AC or DC... DC has 1 Hp motor and low speed of 250 RPM...

For the Unii-saw, Delta went and spoke with over 1000 end users, from hobbyists to casket makers to everyone in between., cabinet shops, school shop Teachers, Technical School Instructors. Often they went back to clarify points. 5 years later they have a product that will be passed on from one generation to the next. Their blade is equal to the best after market blade, because they worked to remove the harmonics and used c-4 Carbide. Was a great meeting. I hope I stop drooling soon, or else I'll be dehydrated...

WOW, that must have been one nice event to attend. If I see this new Unisaw I will use my drool rag. Partly because it is American made and it sounds like a generational machine. Man, that is great.
