I know that memorial day is ment to be a tribute to the memory of fallen soldiers. I have to many of those that I have personally known. And although I will honor there memory this weekend, I would also like to thank all the people that have served our country at all.
I personally dedicate this weekend to
Sean M. Gaul, Who bravely gave all in Sinsil Iraq January 9th 2008.
You are all heros in my eyes. Thank You.

Bruce, There is not enough that could be said for your son or your loss. I will add a prayer to my list today for you, your family, and your son. Thank you.

Definition of a Veteran
A Veteran- whether active duty, retired, national guard, or reserve- is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a blank check made payable to the "United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

My heart goes out to all who were wounded or killed in uniform. Having been in imminent danger areas twice, ten years apart, and never being wounded I often think of how fortunate I was and how many people were working to keep me safe. Thanks to you all!

I don't do ceremonies much anymore as I rarely hear anything new or even well thought out. I did help edit a speech about The Star Spangled Banner for a co-worker but my personal remembrance will be to run in The Armed Forces 5K in Westerville, OH tomorrow morning. At 53, I don't hope to win (or even come close) but I will continue to do what my parents, and the Navy, training me to do - keep my word as best I can - by finishing!

I, too, am very thankful to those who are serving, have served, and to those who gave the ultimate for this country. I am even more thankful for such things with my son in Qatar right now. I was fortunate enough to have him call this afternoon and got a few minutes speaking with him. Thanks to all of you.
