I urge you to take the time between now and Monday to pause and remember what you have and what it has cost to obtain and retain it. Nobody likes war, especially those who fight it and even more those who have paid the ultimate price. But it is because of those who have, are, and will serve that we remain free. Please keep a heart of thankfulness during this holiday. Say a prayer for those who have given all, shake the hand of a living vet and tell them "Thank You"! And pay no mind to the tears in their eyes as they themselves are remembering. Here are a few images to help keep this Memorial Holiday in it's proper perspective . . .

And though not one directly related to Memorial Day, it not only reflects my heart but the heart of every one of my fellow veterans that I have the good fortune to know and meet . . .

To my fellow veterans who have gone on before me, I thank you for all you have given. To my living fellow veterans, I thank you for serving and your willingness to do what was needed of you, no matter what the consequences was or might be. And to those who offer their hearts of gratitude with a "Thank You", I humbly respond with "Your Welcome. It was my honor to have served"!

Thanks to all Veterans who have served; to those who survived and especially to those who didn't make it home.
Thank you also to those who serve our Veterans. Many civilians also serve those who serve and protect.
Thank you all.

To all those that served and are serving, thank you. Now it is up to the rest of us at home to keep America what it is supposed to be.
