Memorial Day is a special day for all Americans. Among those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our Freedom, is a fellow penturner's son.

In honor of Eric Andrew Fifer, July 19, 1983 - October 7, 2005.

Our deepest sympathy goes out to Bruce Fifer (fiferb) and his family. Our heartfelt thanks and prayers to Eric Fifer.

More photos are available in Fiferb's album. http://www.penturners.org/forum/photo_album_view.asp?cname=Eric&mid=2520&cid=2984

I've had the pleasure of spending a couple of days with Bruce. There isn't a father who could be more proud of his son. There's a special angel in Heaven looking out for our country.

Bruce, Eric and your family will forever have our deepest appreciation for the sacrifices made. I'm very sorry for your loss, and please know that Eric and the others will not be forgotten. May he rest in peace.

We all owe a great deal to those brave men and women in uniform that serve to protect the rights that we enjoy in this country.

God Bless them all and those that made the ultimate sacrifice. May they all Rest in Peace. God Bless their families and give them peace as well.

Eric and all those brave soldiers who defended us will NEVER BE FORGOTTEN.

Eric, our fallen hero, I salute and thank you for preserving our freedom.
Bruce, from the bottom of my heart, may peace be with you and your family as you remember your son and that he gave all so that we may be continue to live free.

Gary

Thank you everyone. I'll post how busy this month has been after the holiday because I'm sure it will be a bit long. In the meantime, check out these videos of several news stations. We were at Ft. Bragg last week and all four major networks interviewed us. You'll see more of my wife than you will of me. Thanks again for all your heartfelt wishes.

There is no greater pain than losing a child. I hope that pain is tempered by pride. Prayers to you and your family.
I'll be putting on my uniform shortly to go to the city square and participate in ceremonies there. Don't think I've missed in more than 30 years. The crowd gets older every year, but, surprisingly, seems to have gotten larger last couple years.

<br />Bruce, words fail me, other than a heartfelt thank you.
Same here. Our church did an awesome service on Sunday honoring veterans and active soldiers from all branches, from WWII to the present. It brought tears to our eyes to say thanks to those who have and are still defending the freedoms we enjoy today. The speaker was a man that lost his left leg in a roadside bomb attack. Very inspiring, no politics, just a proud American man, honored to serve his country.
Again, our thanks to you and the sacrifices made.
