meaning of the stars and their colors

i know good and well(cause i've seen it) that there is a description as to how many and what colors the stars mean next to a users name but i can't find it again to save my life

anyone help this old decrepid sailor out?

Well,

4 yellow stars mean 301 post [}] and up to 731 [)]

Ho yes, 5 red stars mean you are the BOSS !!!!!

You know, this is a Frequently Asked Question. I've never understood why the information is not on our FAQ page. If we are going to have the little things let's at least explain them!

They show how many posts you've made. I believe five hits after 1000 but I could be wrong, as for color, Site Admin is red, moderators are purple, yellow, orange, etc. There is only one boss...look for the red.
