Mary Travers passed away on September 16th. After successful recovery from leukemia through a bone marrow/stem cell transplant, Mary succumbed to the side effects of one of the chemotherapy treatments.

We all loved her deeply and will miss her beyond words.

RIP, shy and gentle Mary.

Seems like yesterday but was over 35 years ago when she joined up with 2 other folk singers and formed Peter,Paul and Mary, now she will be forever "Blowing in the wind".

It's always sad to lose someone that contributed so much to so many. May she Rest in Peace.

I have always been a fan of Peter, Paul, and Mary. If you are a fan, you can imagine my delight when I boarded a flight from Houston to San Antonio many years ago and found myself sitting next to Mary. We were sitting in the back of coach, along with the rest of the smokers, with an empty seat between us. Out of the blue, she asked me a computer question that I somehow knew the answer to. We talked the rest of the way.

I had tickets for their show that night in San Antonio. When I told her, she seemed sincerely delighted. She even introduced me to Paul and Peter after we exited the plane. She was a very gracious and kind person. Thankfully her music lives on after her.

I was fortunate to hear her sing in the late 90's at the Virginia Beach Amphitheater. They started off with Puff the Magic Dragon. She explained that they used to sing this at the end of the show but the people coming to her shows now were bringing their kids so they sang this first before the kids fell asleep. Rest in Peace Mary.

It is really sad that she has passed. I love her music and both of my girls were raised on it. It is music that feeds the soul and never goes out of style. I also saw her and Peter and Paul a few years ago and it was just great. She will be missed.
