No joke I have never in my life smelled a wood that was this raunchy.
This stuff smells so much like horse manure it is NOT funny. Since I grew up on a small farm, I know more about horse manure than I'm about to tell all y'all about. Let's just say that horse manure + water + tomato plants = more tomatoes than you'd ever imagine.
I'm making new grips for an offshore fishing rod, and I decided to use lignumvitae for the butt grip and marblewood for the upper (partly b/c I did not have enough of either on hand to do both ends, party for "artistic" purposes).
Here's the pics so far, with reel/seat set inline as a visual aid.
The finger grips on the marblewood are custom shaped for my grubby fingers.
