One of my very first pens was a gold Comfort Pen I got as a "Starter" package from Penn State. I made it and gave it to my wife in 2017, she still has it and uses it almost daily. My wife is a very crafty person who sews, quilts and a bunch of other stuff, she also makes Greeting Cards and she and a few ladies get together monthly to share ideas and what they've done. My wife makes Greeting Cards for the Troops. It's an organization that sends Greet Cards to our Military men and women who are deployed overseas and don't have the resources to send cards to their families. My wife sends blank cards, on the inside, so our troops can put a message of their own on the card. This year my wife will have made and sent over 500 cards to this organization, that's in 2024 alone.
So why the big drawn out story? Well here goes. My wife and I just celebrated our 50th anniversary and she's been the love of my life since 1971 when we met in the only class I've ever flunked.
Fast forward to this Christmas. My wife came to me with her big brown eyes and said, "Honey, I'm looking for a great gift to give the ladies at the stamping group." Well, I remembered a few years back she came to me with all these wooden stamp blocks that she had changed from wood to some kind of plastic stuff. She wanted to see what I could do with them. So I've been holding on to these blocks for several years now. And since I can never tell my wife "No" I figured I could turn these blocks into comfort pens. Thus the picture shows the 6 pens I made for my wife's stamping group. The bottom piece of wood shows how the stamps are mounted. I sure hope the ladies like them. By the way, the name of the company that provides my wife with all her stamping stuff is called "Stamping Up".
Thanks for looking and reading my story.
