I ended up with just a straight across cut because that brass was not playing nice. I don't have a disk or belt sander at home to knock down the corners of my blanks, so the overall vibration and heat knocked a few of the pieces loose at the beginning. Luckily they were at the end of the tube, and it was pretty simple to sand and epoxy them back on.
I like the look and am happy with how everything turned out. Learned a few lessons about epoxy and metal, so when I inevitably do something like this again I'll be better prepared.
I also need to step up my photography game to compete better with some of the other members' presentations lol.
