Santa came to the Walden household a little late this year.... Seems like he got stuck in a pub in Australia, til eventually some bloke by the name of John Crane evicted him from his barstool and sent him on his way with a care package of wonderful pen blanks for yours truly. Seriously, it looks like John dug deep into his private collection- There were a couple of gorgeous pieces of Murray Sheoak, a big chunk of red gum burl from the Murray river, 4 blanks of Needlewood, a piece of prairie wood, several red morrel blanks, a number of pieces of lace sheoak and brown mallee burl, a knock youir socks off piece of Red Mallee burl, a beautiful blank of concinna mallee burl, a big piece of 100 year old red gum from a fence post taken from an early settlers house, and the most special blank of them all- a piece of apricot, that was marked "planted in 1935 by my Mum". John, you've amazed me with your generosity. I haven't had this big of a smile on my face:D:D:D:D in several years- thanks, my friend! Hard decision that it is, I think I'm going to have to turn one of the pieces of Murray Sheoak first- That is some amazing grain, hope I can do it justice. Thanks again, John!!

Looking forward some pics. Sounds very interesting lot and I am jealous ;).

Kidding aside Lyle, I've seen and know the quality of your stash. It has some of the best I've seen and for you to have this reaction...the package must have some really great blanks! [^]

Well thats great news Lyle l am glad he found his way across the big pond and into the hands of someone so deserving,l also say thanks to you Lyle, and if mum was still alive today l don't think she would ever believe that the apricot tree she planted when she was just a little girl would end up on the other side of the world it makes it me very happy Lyle enjoy mate!;)
