This is a piece of Mai Kair that I picked up locally from a great wood supplier here in town. He seems to find some interesting stuff, and thankfully there aren't a huge amount of turners here in Frederick, his turning stock is always in abundance:wink: It is impossible to photograph, but it has a very deep chatoyance that rivals a nice piece of Koa. Beautiful green and gold tones that shift in the light, and the effect is as if you are looking INTO the wood. It is dressing a Sterling Navigator and is finished with Mylands friction finish. This is more for personal use, and I personally prefer the feel of the wood over CA or Laquer. Just my own preference...
