Well, I bought a carved wood pen of an aspen tree with a chipmunk and baby chipmunk on it at a state visitor center and thought it would be really fun to make a pen and started looking on the internet and found this. I have carved wood a lot in my past but putting it with an ink pen is totally new and wanted a book or catalogue or something to tell me how to start.

Welcome!

There is a book on carving figures on pens that is available from Treeline in Utah. Those folks have kits with the wood and pen components for getting started.

While most here are lathe operators --- there are others in the pen making family who use different techniques.

I look forward to seeing you pens!!
