Yes. Depending on how your threads fit. Split dies are a bit counter intuitive. When you screw the set screw in, it widens the die, thus cutting more shallow threads. Conversely, when you unscrew the set screw, the die closes thus making deeper threads. Your material choice can also affect the threads. Depending on how much testing and playing you want to do, you can dial in a perfect fitting tenon and hole.Is there a benefit using a split die? Can you adjust the cutting ? Cheers
