I was in Woodcraft today. They has just replenished their bargin blank barrel, so I picked through it, adn I think I got a real deal at less than $1 each. A couple african blackwood, black & white ebony, one I dont know, redheart, and one I want to ask you all about.

At this one the guy at the store seemed shocked it was there - he said it was Amboyna (although not the burl) . Anyone else want to hazzard a guess? Here are pics of all 4 sides. There were 2 others that seemed to be the same wood, but not near as good as this one.

Looks like curly narra...it's the same wood that amboyna comes from. It's pretty stuff. Turns well and smells good.
