We finally got licensed and got our first silencer. Nothing like a nice threaded barrel, cheap ammo (22LR), and a silencer. I didnt think it did much for the sound at first until I took it off. Wow, it sounds like a low power air rifle. Cant wait to try the higher calibers. :eek::biggrin:

Nice! I didn't think silencers were legal at all... Your post made me do a quick search.. Interesting.

I agree about the lots of fun and cheap to shoot.... Hmmmm.. Time to haul out the buckmark again!

I have one of those P22 and those things are loud as hell. I would be curious to see the difference. Although here in Cali, we do not get any good stuff. I cant even release my clip on my AR without a "tool"

If you want to see a big difference, try using Remington Subsonic ammo. By the way Brian, and I thought you would know better, there is no such thing as a silencer.

Your right, I meant Suppressor! You would be surprised on how many people associate suppressor as just for a flash. I will try to get a video up of the difference in sound. And I am going to try the subsonics.

The P22 is a fun piece, I have a G22 and love plinking with it, especially at night when the raccoons are attacking my garbage cans and I have the laser mounted. I just wish the laser was adjustable, it is about 3" low at 100yds. The factory scope that came with it is dead on and even my kids can use it without a problem. The only down fall with it is when I go to the range with it my wife wants to use it and I don't get it back for a while....LOL She loves it.

Very nice! we have a couple of those at work for our TRT team. Not use what they had in mind when they bought them for us. I had an mp5 with a suppression tube for a while that was fun. Not much use in full auto (30 rounds in 2.5 seconds) but fun to shoot. I couldnt count how many raccoons, skunk and possum I shot with that thing. (on single shot of course.) I finally had to trade it off for my AR15. 9mm dont compair to a good
.223 when it counts. Enjoy your new toy and lots of safe happy shooting.

Dayum... we don't have things like that in the enlightened state of New York!!
:eek::eek::eek:

Enlightened sate of New York? Heck I'm from Canada. Do you people have any idea how many hoops I had to jump through to get my PAL (Possession and Acquisition License)? First I had to take 2 safety courses, one for non-restricted (i.e. rifles) and another course for restricted (i.e. hand guns). Then I had to fill out a 6 page application and send it into the government. Part of that application had to be filled out and signed by my wife. Then I had to be interviewed (by phone) by the RCMP who also did a back ground check on me. Then they sent me my license. The whole process cost me about $300. And after all that, anyone who has a restricted gun can only legally shoot it at a registered firing range. There is no such thing as a permit to carry for a civilian up here. And as for that silencer, forget about it.

And yes, after reading my rant, you may correctly assume that I'm jealous. Enjoy the new toy.

Just do what I did Join the army. Then you will shoot and play with stuff most people only dream of. Why play with a walther when you can play with a m-72 rocket launcher. Or a C-9 7.62 mm gpmg. Shooting 1100 rounds per min. Ohhhhh yea. LOVE IT.....

Probablly because they shoot back :eek:

Indiana , LIFETIME permit to carry , $100.00 in about 10 weeks . Envy here too ! When I bought the 38 Special featherlite , I thought it was good enough for its intents and purposes . But not much playtime . I'll have to check into on a little more practical like yours .

That is so cool! I would love to have one of those to plink with! Yes, gun envy is an insidious thing! Hmmmm - I haven't bought a gun in a while . . .

Scott.
