Secound largest pen show in the country. If you have the chance, GO [8D]
Look for me in the lobby set up by the bar [:)]
I avoid setting up in the main trading room, to stuffy for me in there.

It is only open on Sunday to the public, that bumbs me and others up, but that's the way it has been forever. Hope to see a few members there. Remeber, look for my Mrs. at the bar, I will be working the booth nest to it. I don't drink, (much) [:D]

The wife is heading that way as she has tickets for the Oprah show. I opted out of that. I was thinking of going there and heading to the Pen Show as it would be my first attendance at a pen show. I'm sure I would learn a lot. The wife already has a friend going with her, so I'll probably just stay home. That many hours of being asked what I'm thinking about just does not appeal to me.[:0]

I have given it serious thought that last two years.
Just bad timing and to far for me. Maybe one year, who knows.

Anthony,

I noticed your comment and was wondering, since the public is there for only Sunday ?? Do you sell any of your works or are they shunned by the "Stuffy" folks ?
 
I do make sales during the week before Sunday. I will put my work up against most things being sold there. I do not bring to many commercial pieces, because I am not going to compete with those guys. They can have those sales there. I am there to show my wares and sell my pens. Also, by "stuffy" I do not mean the type of people. The main trading room on Sunday is packed, it gets pretty warm and stuffy in there, to crowded for me. Even the lobby gets pretty full on Sunday. But still, 100% better. Most of the pen traders are a great group of people, just like here [:)]
 
I wish I could go. I lived just a few blocks from the hotel. That was 30 years ago. The hotel was just a vacant field back then. Have to those who get to go.

Hey Anthony, I'm gonna be there! So glad to hear that Scott and the Gisi's will be there. Will be great to meet them. (And to see you and your lovely wife again of course!)

I was to the LA show a couple years ago. It was a good show.

I won't be there this year. I have WAY too much stuff to fly in, and it's a good 3 day drive from Michigan. I can't spend that much time away from the shop and pay for hotels and stuff on way.

Business is getting better, but I'm not rolling in bucks yet. :)
