Looks like the "family" just expanded.

I mentioned in the thread about the arthritic dog that we had a new cat secluded in my wife's office and here it is.

But first; a little background.

This little cat first showed up last spring and we would see it around the house from time to time. Around August it started "chirping" at my wife and she began to leave dry food out for it. One thing led to another and the cat "adopted" us It would show up at the back door morning and night for a can of food. At the first snowfall the poor thing was shivering at the back door and my wife tried to entice it into coming into the house but no go. We had a spare dog carrier so I put it outside and covered it with a piece of plywood and we bought a cheap blanket to give the cat some shelter. On New Years Day I let the dogs out at 5:30 in the morning as usual and I wondered if the cat was using my "shelter". Got the flashlight and sure enough he was in there. Wednesday and Thursday were the coldest nights of the year and Momma tried to get the cat to come inside. He came to the door and sniffed, rubbed on my wife's hand but still would not come in. Friday night comes and my wife was feeding the cat, which we nicknamed "#5" and the cat walked right into the house! He was soon overwhelmed when the other 4 cats all surrounded him and I was able to grab him and bring him into my wife's office where he could be dry, warm, and relatively safe.

Friday night and Last night he hid in the corner of the office behind a chair but he was vocal and he would let us close enough to sniff and give him a little pet on the head. This morning I guess he decided that we were good enough and he came out and was rubbing against us and purring. We had an appointment to take the dog to the vet so we decided that we would take the cat for a health check up and the necessary shots so that he could find his spot in the "pack".

We just returned from the vet a few minutes ago and the news is great all around! The dog is responding beautifully to the aspirin and glucosamine and the cat was given a clean bill of health. The vet says that he's a 10 months to a year and a half old and is in great shape. Feline leukemia and aids tests turned out negative and the necessary vaccines were given. In 3 weeks he goes back to be neutered and have booster shots.

Please allow me to present the newest member of the "Mudder Pack"; the cat formerly known as "number five" has now been renamed "Lucky" and is at this moment meeting the other "pack members"

Ditto with the cat thing

Next door neighbour got a rescue cat. Was terrified of its own shadow it wouldnt get close to anybody. Two years of patience later and it almost lives in our house.we cant tell the neighbour where their cat spends its time tho. It is usualy either curled up on the arm of my chair or sleeping in front of the fire. That cat of yours looks like it will be content

Mudder, that is one fine looking cat.
We have three indoor house cats, one is a calico named Cali, the second is a Tuxedo Tom called "Bear" and the third is a spotted tiger stripe called Rascal. We really love these cats, and they spend a lot of time sleeping with us at night. We have also Inherited approx 6 stray cats the are supposed to belong to neighbors, but LOML feeds them on the porch, so they tend to hang out here. I do not claim them at all, but LOML has named them and feeds them
I keep telling her one more cat and I'm moving out!! Doesn't seem to do any good tho.

Scott, Lucky has a twin from the top of the ears to the toes, exactly!!!!!! Our Buddah showed up in our yard when he was about 2 months old. Mind you we live way out in the country and all my cats are neutered so someone dropped him off. Anyway, adopted, neutered and part of the family.

BTW, glad to hear your other baby is doing better.

Oh man, you gotta watch those things, I think they're clones from another planet.

One minute, you have a loving, cuddly little pal, and then they put on this special 'Kreskin' hat, coercing and hypnotizing their owners..."Feed me...spoil me...you must submit to my will..."

Monster1.jpg

And the next thing you know, they look like a furry pumpkin and they're eating you out of house and home, all the while with a smug look on their face..."I rule everything, you know that, right?"

It's a conspiracy, I tell you!

Monster2.jpg

This is 'Monster' our insatiable, worthless ball of fur. Most cats kill stuff and bring it to you for praise and encouragement? Not him. He brings me live, mangled screaming little helpless things (baby birds, shrews, little snakes, spiders, moths, etc.), and asks me to lightly dredge them in a nice flour/garlic mixture and deep-fry them for his eating pleasure, in between destroying the furniture, depositing hair in everything I own, tearing up the trash can and crapping in my sawdust piles. I swear, my Fry Daddy will never be the same.

"Can I get some tarter sauce, please?"

Worthless. I wish cat skin would make a good pen, swear to God...

HMMMMM!

Rob, Is there a message her some place[?][?]

Tim, I am beginning to think that there is a message from her after all. Especially since I woke up this am and found two NEW cats on the front porch. I guess I have to get busy and build me a better dog house, one with room for my lathes. ;):D
