Looking for pictures showing how platings wear out

It's nice to read here and there that this plating is more durable then that other one (10k gold vs 24k for instance), but i'd be curious to 'see' what that really means. Have you ever seen comparative pictures showing the different platings after say 2, 5, 10 years of 'regular' use?

I have a Sierra Elegant in gold plating that wore within the first 4 months of me using it. It was a PITH pen given to me so I just put it up and stopped using it.

I'll take a picture of the plating the next time I am taking pen pictures.
 
I rarely if ever use any form of gold plated components. The gold just wears off way to fast if you actually use the pen. If I'm using "cheaper" components I use either chrome or satin chrome. But generally I use the titanium or platinum plated components. The durabity of them seems to be the best.

The worst I've found durability wise is the black chrome.
