I may be interested in purchasing an extra long piece of black walnt - maybe 7-8" long.

Does anyone know anyone who may have a nice piece they might be willing to part with?

Figured or Straight Grained?

I have quite a bit of straight grained BW and some English Walnut. It is all REALLY dry. I'll even exchange for Sierra Pen Kits if you'd like.
 
I have some as well if you still need any? What I have is long rip cut offs from cabinet jobs. I can take some photos for you if you want.

I'm looking for a 3/4 x 3/4 x 7 or 8 inches long. I may be making a dip pen for someone and he'd like to see some examples of darker woods.

I have a couple of small pieces that I can take pics of to email him but if he wants the black walnut, I want to have something lined up.

I don't have any Sierra's to trade (JimBob) but would like to know (from all of you) how much you'd want for a piece the size I'm looking for. I'd pay for shipping.

heh, there are some root balls from black walnut trees sitting down the road from me. Now most times the black walnut tree is spliced onto a root ball from something else so I can't guarantee that the balls are black walnut too. But if you like this might be the incentive I need to go get wood that won't fit on my current mini lathe. ;->
