Welcome. There should be someone in your area. Also, look at www.woodturner.org for a listing of local chapters. I belong to one in Dalton, GA and it's well worth it. The members offer a lot of talent and willing to share with others. Penturners and other wood turning with monthly demonstrations of different techniques, etc.

Micheal,
I don't have teachers certificate, but you are welcome to come up and learn how to take a piece of beautiful wood and turn it into shavings and dust. It was good to see you at our IAP meeting and I look forward to seeing you again.

Ben

Hutch9022, you can see how the members reach out to new people. Attending meetings are a good way to learn. Also, have you looked at the link I posted earlier? Don't be intimidated by some of the things displayed as there are woodturners who have years of experience and turn some real wood art. This website, too, is a great way to learn about woodturning.
