ive been looking online for a web site like this one but tailored to box making. Ive picked up some books about box making and joinery. This website has helped me a ton with pen making and looking to expand what I make.

I was taught about a year and a half ago by a friend how to make a mitered-corner box and have made quite a few since then. I must say that a mitered corner box with nice keys make for a seriously gorgeous box.
I just built some out of birch, with cherry keys, for our church's prayer request and communication cards. While I didn't do it for the accolades, I sure did get quite a few when I put them in the sanctuary this past Sunday morning. I know that when the Pastor asked me to build them, he probably expected something like regular plywood nailed together with some stain slopped on it.... boy was he surprised!

Just in case you are looking to turn a box, they are called a "lidded box". They are fun to make.
Lots of good info on them if you google "turning a lidded box"
Don't know of any specific forums, but many woodworking forums would be able to help if you asked.
