I was using Hefty Crystal Clear 24 oz cups. They worked great for polyester I need 24 oz I mix 18 oz at a time.

I was getting from Wall Mart & Sams Club BUT they don't carry them anymore  I searched the net to no avail. I just contacted Hefty maybe they will reply with a supplier.

I would like to get a case I see some possible alternatives. But I am a bit reluctant to buy 600 with out being sure. And the largest plastic cup I can get at Wally world is 18 oz.

Does anyone else use the hefty crystal clear cups

So what can you guys say for sure will hold polyester resin in a 24 oz plastic cup (besides glass )

Thanks

Bruce .. I go to the supermarket and bug the deli people. They've got these containers
for potato salad and such .. perfect for mixing. I think I was paying around $.11 ea
last time I got them, but that seemed pretty high.

You might also go online and search for "Restaurant Supply" and look for the "to go"
containers. Should get a much better price by the case.

Bruce,

My local Sam's has 24 oz plastic cups in the restaurant supply section. They are not Hefty brand but they work great for what I do.

I will have to pick a few of those and give it a try. I had some bad experiences with some cups and polyester. I tried some of the cheaper ones before and if you leave it in the cup just a little too long it will eat through the bottom. That is not fun

Thanks

Can't help you with the PR issue since I only use Alumilite but I do know the cups that I use are very stout. They are not flimsy thin plastic.

I did a bit of google searching and came up with nothing. Lots of the Hefty Easy Grip cups. I am pretty sure those are the ones that will melt with PR. I did find them listed at the Hefty site but the only Crystal Clear cups I find are the smaller ones.
Are you just trying to be difficult?

I guess I am being difficult. Just hate to change something that works. Hefty still shows it on there site.

But like you I can't find it anywhere so it's not just me. I found the smaller ones but not the 24 oz I am curious to see what hefty has to say.

Thanks

I use these in 4 sizes, they are reusable with PR and PU. They are marked in mL and Oz. I mark the beaker with a white paper eraser pen for the absolute volume I want to dispense. They can be cleaned with acetone and used again. They can wear from whacking the bottom if you are not gentle, they will develope a break along the molded foot Simple solution to the problem is to dispence all of the resin...

They come in boxes of 100.

I would like to make a suggestion. Go to a paint and body shop and ask to look at their paint mixing cups. There is different sizes and you can reuse them. I have a guy working for me that paints cars on the side and has some that are close to three years old. I can try and find a picture if interested.

I used to buy re-useable mixing containers until I did the math. Acetone here costs about $15 per gallon. That makes it $.12 per ounce. If you only use 1 ounce to clean your cup, you are doing good. Most of the time I was using 1.5-2 ounces. The cups linked below that I use cost around $9 for 80. That makes the cups $.11 per cup. So, for each use, it costs me $.11 for disposable and $.18-$.24 plus the cost of any papertowel you use! You also have to mess with getting the resin on you and washing out the cup!

Curtis makes an outstanding point for the re-use category!
