A poker buddy of mine has a small managed pond on his place and invited us to help him thin the herd a bit on Saturday. He has it stocked with Black Bass, Bluegill and Channel Cat. The cat don't start biting until around 6:30 PM and a storm blew in about then so all we got were these (plus 6 more that got cleaned before he took the photo). The smallest bluegill was 6" (up top) and the largest was over 9". The bass ran from 14 - 16". All this in about 1.5 hours. I had already caught about 12 by the time another poker buddy (left) showed up. We had a blast and I'm looking forward to going back Saturday, weather permitting. I've already rigged up for the cats.;)

As I recall, you refer to yourself as "Fat boy".

I suspect this week you may want to change to "fatter-than-usual boy"

Looking at your picture reminds me of some of the small ponds we had in Kansas. I sure miss all the green grass and stuff. Watch the Movie "High Plains Drifter" if you wanna see what the terrain looks like around here. The Movie was filmed about 30 minutes from my house and you see nothing but that dessert and sagebrush the whole way there. Nice haul though. last time I fished one of those spots all I got was a mess of the blue gill but they where biting as fast as I could cast, it was some of the funnest fishing I have ever done.

If there's one thing I can do, it's cook fish. And they were VERY tasty. I've eaten from this batch twice now and still have enough in the freezer for another mess when LOML gets back. :D

Yes. Someone made a pen on here out of a gar tail once. Can't remember who and I'm too lazy to do a search right now b/c the new forum we're getting over the weekend oughta search it in 3 seconds instead of half a day:D





Oh, and man that's a nice stringer of fish. I've been fishing several times in the past month and hain't caught mucha nuthin.
