This is pretty cool:

<br />Slightly different attitude from the Sears that loved to lay off their employees as they were about to be vested in the retirement system.

Sears isn't the only company that has done this, it seems to be the American way now. The catchwords now are "eliminating your position".
I applaud Sears for doing this, now if we can get our companies to stop screwing older adults, we'll only have to deal with tax increases and government corruption [V]

Always loved Sears hand tools. Unfortunately, I don't care much for their power tools. The ones I have are in drawers.

Kudos on the employee treatment. Very cool. We have a son on his way "Back" to Iraq.

You should see the cuts in benifits to retired employees they have taken away in the last 10 years. I have a friend who is retired from Sears and they just love this topic.

City of Los Angeles does the same thing for police officers and fire fighters. I think they do it for all employees, but might be wrong. Sometimes the government does the right thing.

The company i work for, after 9-11 changed their policy for being activated. Payed you your full salary plus benefits for a year.
while you drew your military pay.
