In my never ending search for "stuff to put in my PR mold" I ran across several posts here regarding Loofah. A few people say that it looks funny, but i looked at a couple of pics and the results were amazing.

A local gardening show was on the T.V. when i heard her say something about "Loofah plants" and they showed a big cucumber looking thing. After some research i learned that Loofah is a plant, and can be grown without millions of gallons of saltwater within driving distance.

Apparently, like the cucumber, it is a long season plant that enjoys living at the top of little hills. I don't know about anyone else, But i am already looking into seeds for next year!

My wife already spends too much money there. :)

Actualyl, she saw me looking into the seeds and said the same thing.

you hate them? Can i ask why?

I really like the way the cactus blanks look but cannot for the life of me, figure out how to prep the cactus. The stuff grows wild all around me. I have several pieces in varying stages of dry/rotten but cannot seem to harvest even a small piece of material. I have even offered to buy the material with no luck, and i have tried to learn the secrets, again with no luck.

It's ok.. I will get it eventually.

Hey Steve,

Could you post some pix so we can hate them too? JK, I'm really curious.

Try putting your cactus cuttings on an ant bed for them to clean the "carcas". Thats sorta what we used to do with sharks jaws. Bury them in sand in the back yard near an ant mound. Dig them up in a few weeks and they were cleaned.

Here's a picture of some loofah. These are just a few pens I made a wile ago. They kinda look like cactus. You can really change the look with some dye and some paint in the drilled hole.
