Hi everyone,

Several months back I purchased 5 or 6 kits of the Platinum Little Havana Fountain Pen, and I finally got around to making them (it took awhile to get a 35/64 drill bit!).

Anyway - I think I originally purchased these because they were on closeout from CSUSA - and now I wish I had purchased a ton of them. These are really great little/big pens!

I looked online and have not found any more for sale, but I noticed that the El Toro looks exactly like the Little Havana - and the instructions appear to be the same.

Are these the same pens with different names? Do they use the same bushings?

I'll try to post a few pictures of the Little Havanas made recently in the Show off your pens forum. Anyone else find that they really like this particular style?

Best,
Roger Garrett

The Little Havana is a love/hate pen. I'm a hater. CS had problems with mis-matched fittings. They can be tricky to make. Good luck. Going from memory, I believe the El Toro is the same pen.

The El Toro is not the same pen. It looks the same, the bushings and tubes are the same, but the feed is different. I have managed, after a great deal of fussing and screwing around, to get an El Toro to accept one of Lou's SF nibs. I did this on my own bone El Toro and have only used it a bit and I'm not sure how solid the nib is. I would not sell one to a customer the way it is.

I screwed up the first El Toro I made and have had no problems making either the El Toro or Little Havana since. It is one of my favorites.

Frank, I've made a couple dz. Little Havanas and haven't found any mis matched fittings could you elaborate if you speaking of bad or mis matched parts or putting the C/B on the upper barrel.

Frank,

Do you mean the way the cap screws to the body after the pen is made?
