Our little rescued Pom with his Big Sis on a 20 below zero morning..Bev made the mukluks for him..they have thinsulate liners and knobby material on the "sole" so he has traction! He's pretty new to footwear, but he's doing well with them...Hope this gives you dog lovers a smile:)

that's one stylish pup. years ago we had a black lab who would not go out in the rain without his rubber boots...hated mud between his toes!

My little yorkie is sitting in my lap as I read this. When I enlarged the photo, he turned up to me and said.... "what a wuss"! Well, he didn't actually say it but I know he thought it!. :)

My wife made him some little boots a few years ago and he wouldn't take two steps in them, what's the secret?

Bear says: Put your dukes up, yorkie...what's a texas yorkie know about 20 below zero weather? Bear looks fluffy, but he's a toughy! There really is no secret..they will either get used to them or they won't..I have 4 dogs and only one will wear the boots..the others will sit down & try to chew them off..or run like crazy and try to throw them off...People who race sled dogs in tough conditions, where the dogs need foot protection, start them very very young with the boots...

Superglue:wink:

This reminds me of one thing....... NEVER read these posts while sipping a cup of coffee because every now and then you scroll down the page and there it is..... the one that makes you choke on the coffee as it's going down!

Too funny! and the coffee can barely be seen on my dark colored house robe.

cute boots!

I love watching our weims when we first put their hiking boots on...they do the HIGH STEP. Alas, no snow here in California... what a shame - I could go for some puppy torture right about now.

the trick to getting them to wear the boots (at least in our experience) is to put the on, then walk away from them to go on said hike. They don't want to be left behind, and get over the weird feeling quick.

I think I might need a pair of those for me.
Bet we could set you up with a "person pair" We wear mukluks made in Ely, Minnesota..they are made from Moose hide..I can walk to 20 below zero or so and have toasty feet..They are terrific..light as air and even at 20 below I don't wear socks..the mukluks are supple and feel like walking in bare feet...if you need mukluks of this type google: mukluks Ely Mn...they are pricey, but no other boot beats 'em..If you can't find on google, let me know and I'll try to find info for you

Thank you George..I bet that it is their official website...it is a small business in a little town; they make footwear for dog sledders..antartic explorers etc..I've had my pair for 15 yrs or so and walk hundreds of miles in subzero conditions each year..they are the best I have ever worn...
