Well, here I am, sitting in a chair looking out over a sea of Vermont's famous fall foliage with a ski mountain as a backdrop. And what do I do? I come check in on you jokers via my iPhone to make sure y'all aren't burning the place down! Man I must be addicted!

Unfortunately this is a working vacation. I flew up to my parents summer cabin in the northeast kingdom area of Vermont in order to finish a bathroom addition my dad started and has not been able to complete due to his health. I brought my lead carpenter with me and we spent the day installing siding and windows. Tomorrow we will finish the overhang and then do some interior trim work. If all goes as planned, we should have Thursday and Friday to do some sightseeing before flying home to Texas on Saturday.

We are in west Burke vermont and only 25 miles or so from Canada. It got down to 28 deg F last night and the high today was less than the low back in Texas at 65 deg F! Sure wish we could stay longer.

Anyway, you all be good while I am gone!

Hey Curtis,,, enjoy the cool weather and the scenery. My son's in-laws live in Derby Line, VT. right on the border. I enjoyed my quick trip back there but the LOML said NO because of snow... :frown:
good thing someone checks on us...

They say it should be getting down into the 60's at night here in Florida. :tongue:It's very nice right now, sun shining nice breeze every once and a while. Weather.com says its 83f. Makes me wish I had a shop with big garage doors or windows on each end. :)

Curtis,
You are right in the heart of Vermont moose territory (the Northeast Kingdom). During your sight-seeing you might ask around. Lots of folks it the kingdom have found moose antler sheds or know someone who has. You might pick up some antler pieces for pens if you were a little lucky.

I'm guessing that we are 1-3 weeks from the peak of the foliage down here in the southern end of VT. Which means it should be quite nice right now where you are.
