I did not want to highjack the other tread so I will start this one.
I have always wanted to build my BBQ grill just never had the time.
This year I made the time-----she is built from a 30 gallon air tank.
The grates are all stainless steel---you would not believe how much stainless cost these days. So lets see what you like to use for a BBQ.

No, it's a waste of a perfectly good $5,000 motor.[:(]

Unless it's a Ford motor, then it would be about all it's good for.[}:)][:p]

EDIT: OMG, I just read about it. It's a MOPAR! What a waste!!!

Well, I didn't build the grille itself..... but I did build the cabinets, and laid the travertine marble countertops, ran the electrical and installed the plumbing, and built about 1500 square feet of deck to round it all out....

just finishing up the hot tub installation.... about time to fire up the grille and the dual tank frozen margarita machine....

Now that's something to brag about, Heck makes me want to go out and add on to my porch/deck. I will post a pic of it in the morning. I hope you make the time to enjoy it with your family and friends.

Lou, consider it an open invite if you ever find yourself in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, to come on out for a bit of grilling...

Lyle, very nice. My friends thoughts I was over the edge when I added on a 12' x 14' screened room with a built-in gas grill, vent fan, sink, and fridge. Finished with plenty of cabinets, tile floor, tile countetops, etc., and opens onto our 1200 sq ft deck. Of course they never complain when I invite them over for ribs or something. I would go get some pics but until this femur heals I mostly am watching BBQ shows on the food channel from the rented hospital bed instead of grilling.

Your arrangement sounds very nice- we need pics when you can get around to it!! While I don't spend a lot of time in front of the TV, I do try and catch "Licensed to Grille" a couple of times a month... now that guy has a real grilling set up!! Hope you get that show in your area, and we'll keep you in our thoughts for a speedy recovery.[:D]

Well, the Texas weather is a little more conducive, at least during what is normally the colder part of the year for you folks in Canada, for outside entertainment. We had about 40 friends over for New Years Eve, and most of the traffic was out on the deck. Our low was about 45 that morning (and I say morning 'cuz it took till 4:30 to get the last of the folks home). We generally grille 3 times a week year round, and most weekends we have informal get togethers where neighbors show up with meat and a side dish, and it's just a nice, laid-back chance to visit and unwind. You may have noticed the trees coming up through the deck and all around the perimeter- there's a creek right behind our house with city "greenbelt" about 20 feet wide on either side, so the kids have a great time running up and down the creek area while the parents get caught up on what's been going on. Also, my wifes parents live just the other side of the creek, and we've built a small bridge across for easier access, so plenty of opportunities for informal visits. All that said, we get a great deal of enjoyment out of the outdoors entertaining area.

<br />Lyle, your deck is larger than my house.

Lyle,

Beautiful deck and grill area. I miss the large deck I built on the last house.....but I now have the model for the next one which I hope will be started in the near future [:p] Now if we can just get that recipe for ribs [:D]

Around here you never know what you'll get weatherwise. One year, New Year's Eve is 70 at midnight, next year it'll be 10. If you don't like NC weather....wait a minute

Here's a couple of pics of our deck. The wife and I logged the whole deck----all the way from trees to finished project.
Size is 12 X 24 which is ain't bad but I am wanting to add a 20x20 to the end just for the BBQ area and a dinning table.

Love it- I bet sitting out on the deck with the sound of rain hitting that tin roof is mighty relaxing....

We now have metal on all the roofs. For some reason it's they way to go around here. I asked my insurance company about thier claims on metal roofing and they where very positive. I figured they knew the #'s better than anyone else since they write the claims checks.
SWMBO has her hamock on the porch---it's her Christmas present for next year---I am running ahead a little on spoiling her---LOL

Wow... I see that your's is the DELUXE model that comes with the bun warming rack! Those are getting hard to come by.

Some friends told me about these and we went and "picked one up". Problem was that it was made of plastic and only lasted one BBQ![:D]
