Since CC is going out of business they've started discounting some of their digital camera gear. I got a steal of a deal on a Canon 100mm F2.8 Macro lens. I tried calling one of the stores and the salesperson (without looking at a computer) said everyone was out of them. However, I drove to one of the store myself and found one-the last one! Having a blast with it-narrow depth of field and I can tell that if I am going to get serious about it, I need to fabricate a ring flash. Does a pretty good job on portraits-my "model" has some interesting facial features which challenges the proper focal point as the attached photos can attest.
