I picked up the new Jett 1221VS at the AAW last weekend. I had to redo the shop to make room. Now its time to do some turning!

That lathe looks very interesting. Lots of mass and all of the features that you could want. What are you using before the Jet? Can you compare the two after you get some time on the Jet?

Jet 1221VS
I was, and still am using a Carba-tec for my pens and small work. My larger Delta was in need of a new motor. After spending the morning with the Jet doing a few boxes and bird houses I am not going to miss the Delta. The Jet is solid (I got the stand too), no vibration, good ramp up to speed. The Carba-tec has VS and I liked that, so having it on the Jet is great. I need to find some set screws for my jaw chuck so I can try this thing in reverse.
I am going to need a new mandrel before I can try pens on it. Pictures to follow.

Here I thought I was the only one bringing home a new lathe from the show Nova DVR XP all I have to do now is sell my Nova 1624 to make room for it. Good luck with the new lathe
