I have a little laser business and I got mine for $14K, used. So now you know why it is so cheap to put a $10 name on a pen.

I just use a local engraver, try a trophy shop or something along those lines, There are also IAP members that do this as well. The guy I use charges me $5 a pen for 1-2 lines worth. I looked into an engraver but I the cheapest was about $2000 or so. most are in the $10000+ range. I want one but it is cheaper to outsource sometimes, and it does help your local economy too.

Im looking at an Epilog and suprisingly the wife says ... go ahead. I think they start around $8000 or $9000 for the little one but Im guessing I will want more power...LOL

I've been looking at epilog and universal laser for awhile. I would request their information packets and get on the mailing lists. Every couple months there seems to be a 'double your laser wattage' or other promotion. *If I was ready to throw down the money I'd be waiting for one of those promo's especially the double laser wattage.

I could not justify getting a small model just for pens though (less I win the lottery tomorrow). I would have to think of some other options to either produce products or service. Even a small model is still a fairly large sum of money.

You can check the sawmill creek forum in the laser engraver section as well. I've seen more then one laser system come up for sale there. There are some knowledgeable people over there that could help with questions as well. I posted quite a few questions there when I first became interested in a system.

still looking

Thanks for the info. I will keep looking. The one I want most is the Gravograph LS 100 with the rotatary, they are awesome. Where I work we got the LS 900, but I can't run a business off it. even though it would be nice. Thanks again for the inputs. Oh by the way it is only 40,000 the machine at my work.
